Bias Tape for Uniforms
A uniform combines fabric pieces and seams that need a consistent construction in the pattern. Bias tape can be used at the textile edges specified by that design.
Before repeating a finish across a run of garments, establish the placement and fold with a sewn sample.
Edges specified in the garment pattern
Necklines, armholes or internal edges can be finished with tape where the garment construction calls for it. Mark its exact position on a sample: different edges within a uniform may need different finishes.
What to consider when choosing tape
Check the finished width, garment fabric and whether the binding will be visible or internal. Agree on a color using a physical sample; a screen image is not a substitute. Any protective requirement needs a separate assessment.
Compare single-fold and double-fold tape.
Manufacturing for production
For production enquiries, provide an approved sample and the number of garments. Ask about formats for garment making or contract manufacturing with your own fabric. Include the expected tape consumption when discussing delivery formats.
