Bias Tape for Hats
On a hat, fabric tape can finish a textile edge or form a decorative detail. The photograph shows a band around the crown; it does not establish whether that band is bias-cut.
If you need bias tape for the edge of a fabric piece, specify that use when enquiring. If you need a decorative band, explain its placement and the finish you want to see.
Distinguish a band from an edge finish
The brim edge and a band around the crown follow different paths. A hat sample helps define the tape’s role and the join required without confusing the two finishes.
What to consider when choosing tape
Define the visible width, color and whether the tape needs a fold. Check how it sits along the model’s curve and the space available for stitching.
Compare single-fold and double-fold tape.
Manufacturing for production
For several hat models, separate the references for each finish. Ask about tape material and packaging, and contract manufacturing if you plan to supply the fabric.
